Alan Bradshaw

Alan Bradshaw has been West End Children's Director on hit shows such as School of Rock and Billy Elliot. He has extensive performance experience in the West End and beyond and has held Senior leadership roles at the UK's top performing arts colleges, including Arts Ed and MTA.

Laurie Scarth

Laurie Scarth has over 20 years of expertise in the industry, performing extensively across the West End and beyond and teaching at the UK's top performing arts colleges, including Arts Ed, Laine Theatre Arts, Emil Dale and more - including integral leadership roles shaping programs that bring students to success.

Director of Dance Company

Kathryn Elward

Kathryn Elward has performed on the West End and with the European Ballet Company and, alongside running the Spirit Dance Company, she teaches at Pineapple Studios, Base Studios and Masters Performing Arts. Kat has a degree level in teacher training from the British Ballet Organisation.

Lauren Hall & Matthew Malthouse

Lauren and Matt have had impressive and versatile careers in the West End and beyond, spanning over 60 professional credits between them. Matt now holds the position of Head of Second Year & Senior Dance at Arts Ed and is syllabus creator for the BBO (British Ballet Organisation).

Behind the Scenes Team

Sophie Boyce & Chloé James

Sophie (Founder) is a musical theatre writer whose work is currently being developed in NYC. Last year she was honoured as Winner of the Fred Ebb Award and Richard Rodgers Award, and Fellow of the Dramatist Guild of America. Chloé is a graduate of Arts Ed, co-creator of Spirit YDC, and is responsible for some of Spirit's most notable honours and performances.

Terri Claus (Resident Weekly Program)

Professional children’s acting and voice coach with over 15 years of experience in the industry. She has performed at renowned venues including the Royal Albert Hall, and now specialises in training young performers. Terri works closely with casting directors, agencies, and top UK colleges including Emil Dale and The Dang, helping students gain roles in the West End, UK tours, and on screen.

Phillip Joel (MT Associates)

Award-winning choreographer for theatre and television (WhatsOnStage Award, Actors Fund Encore Award and Dance Teacher of the Year 2021).

Jarnéia Richard-Noel (Guest Instructor)

Olivier-Award-Nominated actress, best known for her starring role in West End's Six the Musical (Original Cast).

​

Meadhbh Lyons (Guest Instructor)

​Choreographer and Movement Director best known for her recent work on West End's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

 

James Hall (Resident Weekly Program)​

Musical Director and Estill trained Singing Teacher, specialising in Musical Theatre and audition accompaniment. James currently works at Bird College and Laine Theatre Arts.​

​Alexzandra Sarmiento (Guest Instructor)

Performer and Dance Captain in the original West End cast of Hamilton. Associate Choreographer of In the Heights and Legally Blonde.

Jodie Steele (Guest Instructor)

West End actress best known for playing Katherine Howard in Six, Heather Chandler in Heathers, ​Elphaba in Wicked and a wealth of other roles in Hair, Gatsby, Bonnie & Clyde and more.

Matt Mellor (Resident Associates Program) 

A Musical Director and Vocal Coach who additionally teaches at Arts Ed, Masters Performing Arts and Emil Dale Academy.​​

Anna Antoniades (Guest Instructor)

Performer best known for her work in the movie Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, as well as a wealth of other professional film and theatre credits.

Michaela Powell (MT Associates)

Associate Director of the Kinky Boots UK Tour, Associate Director of An Officer and a Gentleman and the Associate Choreographer of the School of Rock International Tour.​

​

Charlotte Webb (Resident Weekly Program)

Alum of Spirit YPC, with a degree in Musical Theatre from Arts Ed. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Musical Theatre at LAMDA, and amidst her recent performance experience is a role in the movie adaptation of Wicked.

Mark Hilton (Guest Instructor)

Resident Director in the West End and beyond - School of Rock UK Tour, High School Musical, Hairspray, Jersey Boys and more.

​

Grace Mouat (Guest Instructor)

Dance Captain and Swing in West End's Six (playing all six roles) and star of West End's &Juliet.

Dawn Buckland (Guest Instructor)

Choreographer for West End's Pirates of Penzance, Children's Dance Captain for West End's Billy Elliot.​​​​

Sophie Isaacs (Guest Instructor)

Star of West End's Six and Heathers the Musical.

Laura Bangay (Guest Instructor)

Children's Musical Director of West End's Matilda the Musical and Sound of Music.​
