WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?  /  AM I GOOD ENOUGH TO AUDITION?

Spirit is a world-class Musical Theatre programme for performers aged 7-19. We pride ourselves on hand-selecting performers who demonstrate the passion, dedication and potential to thrive in the world of Musical Theatre. We encourage everyone to audition - from seasoned young West End professionals, to newcomers with a genuine desire to excel. Successful applicants will be enrolled in teams that best suit their level.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M SUCCESSFUL?

Spirit students benefit from professional training and unparalleled performance opportunities. Our performers train on Saturdays or Sundays at our studios in Central London. The day of training is determined by the Spirit faculty, based on which team is determined the best fit for the performer. Find out more about our training/teams here.

I LIVE OUTSIDE OF LONDON, CAN I STILL AUDITION?

Absolutely! Most of the Spirit team travel into London, from all over the country. If you are able to make the journey each week and be committed to your training, we don't mind where you are from.

DO YOU HAVE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES?

Yes! Performers from low income backgrouds are able to apply for scholarships all year round. We also have our prestigious Stage Scholarship, which all performers are welcome to apply for. Stage Scholarship take place once a year, usually in July.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITIONS....

The audition is made up of three sections: singing, a dance call and a short interview with the panel.

We work hard to make sure our auditions are fun, rewarding, supportive and educational, regardless of the outcome. Teamwork is strongly encouraged and all applicants should walk away having learnt something from the experience.

We do not expect everyone to be a pro already! We're looking for passion and potential.

WHAT TO PREPARE....

All Musical Theatre/Singing Team applicants will need to prepare a song of their choice, to sing a cappella. You will only need to sing a verse and a chorus (or the equivalent, time-wise). You are welcome to start halfway through the song or just sing the end, if that's the section that best showcases what you can do.

DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DANCE?

We have different Musical Theatre teams catered towards different skill-sets/levels of experience. Some teams cater to exceptional dancers, others to those without previous dance training. We just need to see that you are willing to learn.

If you are applying for our Singing Troupe / Choir only, then you are not required to dance at the audition.

WHAT ARE THE AUDITION FEES?

The audition fee is £15 for a 3 hour Musical Theatre audition, or £5 for anyone only auditioning for Singing Teams/Choir. These fees cover taking classes with our industry professional faculty and being reviewed by our expert panel.
